Grass had form web-like patterns in the parking lots. Behind the back of the school a small scoreboard for the Spencer Jayhawks with VISTORS missing but HOME present, overgrown and scoreless. To the left there was a small dilapidate blue set of wooden bleachers which had been besiege and almost camouflaged by weeds, in its background a football field which was waist high in weeds. As I continued to survey the building taking pictures of the front and sides the school’s marker or signage became visible at its main entrance. The school was not only home of the Spencer Jayhawks but Paul Laurence Dunbar High School as well.
